Protecting your Assets. Leadership Strategies that Create Longevity

Featuring Eric Chase B/A, AAS, Shift Lead

About the Session:
The presentation emphasizes that an organization’s greatest asset is its people. In EMS, where burnout, compassion fatigue, and turnover are persistent threats, leadership must intentionally cultivate psychological safety, trust, and adaptability (Maslach & Leiter, 2016). Drawing from Dare to Lead by Brene Brown, the course reinforces that courage, vulnerability, and clear communication are not soft skills—they are critical leadership competencies.

About the Speaker:

Eric Chase is a Nationally Registered paramedic, educator, speaker, and founder of EMSIMPROV LLC and the EMSIMPROV Podcast. He has served in a variety of EMS leadership and clinical roles, including Flight Paramedic, Fire Paramedic, Lieutenant, Field Training Officer, Clinical Services Manager, and Adjunct Faculty instructor. Eric holds degrees and certifications from Mercyhurst University, the University of Colorado, and the University of Maryland Baltimore County. A nationally recognized presenter, he speaks on leadership, resilience, accountability, compassion, and professional growth, engaging audiences across EMS, healthcare, and public safety.
