From Awareness to Mastery - Strengthening Leadership Through More Effective Communication

Featuring Robbie MacCue, FP-C, MBA, & Lisa Giruzzi

About the Session:
What often goes unnoticed is the role communication plays in leadership and its direct impact on burnout, performance, and retention. People don’t burn out simply from the demands of the job they burn out from the experience they’re having in it. And that experience is largely shaped by how leaders communicate.
When communication is unclear or reactive, it creates unnecessary pressure, frustration, and misalignment. Over time, that takes a toll on individuals and the organization.

The good news is communication is a leadership skill and it can be developed. This introduces the four phases on the road to communication mastery and through a leadership lens, participants will learn how to recognize where they are, understand what’s required to move forward, and begin to shift how they show up in conversations.

About the Speakers:
As co-founders of the EMS Leadership Academy, Robbie MacCue and Lisa created an organization that provides leadership training and resources for EMS leaders worldwide, they are committed to addressing the difficulties EMS organizations are facing daily and help them to create magnetic, thriving, sustainable organizations. They have created transformational curriculum designed for EMS leaders and deliver training live from their streaming studio in Upstate New York.

The Road to Vicarious Transformation

Featuring Mike Emmerich

About the Session:
Our journey on The Road to a Vicarious Mental and Health Transformation. Let us walk together, and keep exploring and learning along the way

About the Speaker:
Mike has been involved in EMS, Fire, Rescue & Disaster/Risk Management for 40 years. He has worked in multiple roles, including; remote site work, flight medic (rotor and fixed wing), clinic and project management, GM, CEO, HOD, trainer and clinical governance director, for various companies, across Africa and the Middle East.

On his journey he has been exposed to burnout, vicarious trauma and emotional fatigue. This is part of his journey, having recently completing a Health Coach Diploma, and set up a "Health Coaching Collective" agency, to assist others. As he walks this road, he is cognisant, that you don’t have to have all the waypoints, just a good map of what might lie ahead. He trusts that this ongoing process will enable him and others to have more clarity and assist in cementing some of the foundation needed to walk on the road to vicarious transformation.

Why Education is linked to operational readiness & response

Featuring Duncan McConnell

About the Session:
Join Lisa as she speaks with Duncan about the importance of why education plays a key role in operational readiness and delivery within paramedicine and healthcare. About the Speaker:
Duncan has over 29 years of experience in prehospital care and emergency services, working as a paramedic, educator, and leader. He has developed and implemented paramedicine programs at Griffith University and Charles Darwin University, and has worked with governments and organisations in the Maldives, Mongolia, and Papua New Guinea to enhance healthcare delivery.
